Paying Scorpion several thousand dollars a month, but staying because leaving means starting your website over? Here’s exactly what switching to Inherent looks like — including the part most firms worry about: for the first time, the website will be yours.
You’ll own your website
Scorpion builds sites on its own platform, so the site can’t leave with you. We rebuild yours on WordPress, the system behind more than 40% of the web. Your firm owns the files, the content and the domain outright, and you can edit the site yourself or have anyone else work on it.
Reports you can act on
Every month you’ll see which pages and search terms are bringing in cases, in plain language. No retainer that pays for a platform you can’t see into.
We handle the whole move
Domain, content, redirects so you keep your search rankings, and your Google Business Profile and directory listings. Most switches take 2–3 months, and we plan the launch around your current contract so you’re not paying twice.
How the switch works
- Free cost review. Tell us what you pay Scorpion today, whether that includes your ad budget, and what’s included. We’ll send you a custom quote for the same services — no obligation.
- Plan around your contract. We look at when your current agreement ends and work backwards, so your new site is ready when you need it.
- Rebuild and move. We design your new site on WordPress and move your existing content — attorney bios, practice areas, blog posts, case results — then map every old page to its new home.
- Launch. Your domain points to a site you own, old URLs redirect to the new pages, and your Google Business Profile and directory listings are updated.
- Check everything moved over. After launch we confirm that redirects, forms, call tracking and listings are all working as they should.
Common questions
Can I take my current Scorpion website with me?
No, and that’s the catch most firms run into. Scorpion sites are built on Scorpion’s own platform, so they can’t be moved to another host or edited by anyone outside Scorpion. What you can keep is everything that matters: your domain, your content, your photos and your search history. We rebuild the site around them on WordPress, and from then on it’s yours.
Will I own the new website and my domain?
Yes. Your firm owns the domain, the website files and all of the content outright. If you ever leave Inherent, you take them with you.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
We redirect every old page to its new address, so the links and search history you’ve built carry over to your new site. Rankings can move around for a short time after any website change, which is normal — the redirects are what protect them over the long run.
What happens to my Google reviews and my ads?
Your Google reviews belong to your Google Business Profile, not to your website, so they stay with your firm. If Scorpion runs your Google Ads or Local Services Ads, those accounts should be in your firm’s name; we’ll check, and if they aren’t, we’ll help you set up accounts you control before the switch.
How long does it take?
Most switches take 2–3 months from signing to launch. The biggest factor is how quickly your team can review content and give approvals — we handle everything else.
I’m still under contract with Scorpion. Can I start now?
Yes — starting early is the best way to avoid paying for two websites. Check your agreement for its end date and for any notice you need to give before then, since some agreements renew automatically. Tell us the date and we’ll plan your launch around it.
How much does it cost?
Every firm is different, so we quote each one individually. The quickest way to find out is our free cost review: tell us what you pay now and what’s included, and we’ll show you what the same services would cost with Inherent.
