Justia got your firm online for not much money. The trade-off is a template site that looks like thousands of other Justia firms, limited room to make it your own, and a site that can’t leave Justia’s platform. Here’s exactly what switching to Inherent looks like — including the part most firms care about most: for the first time, the website will be yours.

You’ll own your website

Justia Elevate sites are built and hosted on Justia’s platform, so the site itself can’t move with you. We rebuild yours on WordPress, the system behind more than 40% of the web. Your firm owns the files, the design, the content and the domain outright, and you can edit the site yourself or have anyone else work on it.

A site built around your firm

Instead of a template shared with thousands of other firms, you get a design based on how your firm actually gets clients: your practice areas, your attorneys, your city. That’s what search engines and AI tools reward, and what makes a visitor pick up the phone.

We handle the whole move

Domain, content, redirects so you keep your search rankings, and your Google Business Profile and directory listings — including your Justia profile, which stays with you. Most switches take 2–3 months, and we plan the launch around your current plan so you’re not paying twice.

How the switch works

  1. Free cost review. Tell us what you pay Justia today — the Elevate plan, any Premium Placements or Amplify marketing — and what’s included. We’ll send you a custom quote for a site you own, with no obligation.
  2. Plan around your plan. Justia bills monthly or annually. We look at when your current term ends and work backwards, so your new site is ready when you need it.
  3. Rebuild and move. We design your new site on WordPress and move your existing content — attorney bios, practice areas, blog posts, case results — then map every old page to its new home.
  4. Launch. Your domain points to a site you own, old URLs redirect to the new pages, and your Google Business Profile and directory listings are updated.
  5. Check everything moved over. After launch we confirm that redirects, forms, call tracking and listings are all working as they should.

Common questions

Can I take my current Justia website with me?

Not the site itself. Justia Elevate sites run on Justia’s own platform, so they can’t be moved to another host or edited by anyone outside Justia. What you can keep is everything that matters: your domain, your content, your photos and your search history. We rebuild the site around them on WordPress, and from then on it’s yours.

What happens to my Justia lawyer profile?

Nothing. Your Justia directory profile is separate from your website and stays live whether or not you keep an Elevate site. We’ll update it to point to your new website on launch day.

Will I own the new website and my domain?

Yes. Your firm owns the domain, the website files, the design and all of the content outright. If you ever leave Inherent, you take them with you.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We redirect every old page to its new address, so the links and search history you’ve built carry over to your new site. Rankings can move around for a short time after any website change, which is normal — the redirects are what protect them over the long run.

Justia is inexpensive. Won’t a custom site cost more?

Usually, yes — a site built for your firm costs more than a template plan. The question is what it brings in. A template shared with thousands of other firms gives search engines and AI tools little reason to recommend you over the firm next door. We’ll show you the real numbers in the cost review so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

How long does it take?

Most switches take 2–3 months from signing to launch. The biggest factor is how quickly your team can review content and give approvals — we handle everything else.

I’m on an annual Justia plan. Can I start now?

Yes — starting early is the best way to avoid paying for two websites. Check when your plan renews and whether it renews automatically. Tell us the date and we’ll plan your launch around it.
